An Explosion of the KyKy in July

July in the Marriott-----
all about our "Blu",
not the Red, White, and Blue.

July was field with fun in the sun birthdays and surprises. Kya and I, along with the rest of my Posse here at the Marriott, celebrated my birthday in style as you will see in the pictures.  Kya's Daddy surprised us by bringing MeMe.  Kya knew in no time who her MeMe was and kept looking around for her if she left the room or could hear her voice.  Keep praying that we get to have a homecoming in August.

Announcment: we can not post new pictures until July...Sorry this silly site has a download picture limit and we met it for this month!

Well we have now been here for one month.  We are still enjoying ourselves...but how could we not we have been treated like royalty (all i need is my crown) by the staff her at the Marriott.  I let Shawn know that when I get home I want fresh flowers delivered to my room each week, breakfast brought to me each morning, and FRESH SQUEEZED JUICE.  As if he does not spoil me enough...can you imagine the mess of him making fresh squeezed juice...ha ha.  They are really making us feel right at home and I am making some life long friends.

Now for the important stuff.....Kya Blu gets more beautiful, more "Advanced", or "Gifted" as her papa calls it, more popular, more funny and more in love with her favorite cartoon Back Yardigans everyday.  Yesterday Kya's mommy got the "Guatemala Poop Flu" and the staff here had the Dr. come and got me a antibiotic and I am now feeling much better.  Today we had a fun day meeting Cara and Leslie from Across the World Adoption Agency.  We met them and Mayra for lunch at La Vista we had a great visit...I hope I didn't talk to much..ha ha.  They were wanting to meet Kya's Doctor, Dr. Montiel so Mayra called and he was free.  Kya's Dr. appointment was scedualed for Friday but we went with them and he saw her today.  On the way there Mayra got a flat tire....She is now my Hero because she changed it her self in the middle of the Guatemala City traffic.  Cara, Leslie, Kya and I went ahead and walked to Dr. Montiels office where Kya Blu Angelica weighed in at 10lbs 10oz she gained almost 2 lbs this month...she like to eat just like her mommy.  She also got her Polio Vaccination today.  It was nice to get out of the hotel for a while and it was great to get to meet Cara and Leslie in person.  When I got back to the room, room service brought me up a meat, cheese and desert tray on the house...from the sales and management department...I thought it was so "dulce" which means sweet of them.

Tomorrow I have a spanish lesson and then we get to hang out with Holly and Gia...which we always look forward to.  Holly is also fostering but staying in an apartment so she comes over a few times a week to hang out.  I am really getting attached to Gia too.  Also I am very excited Jana and Minnie are coming here tomorrow.  Ok Jana I may be more excited to se Jenna than you but I am sure you don't mind haha.  I am ready for all the military people that are here to go home because they are taking up all the rooms and there are not many families here right now.  They are having a peace training exercise here and military officers from the US and Central America are all staying here.  Well Kya has had enough of her bouncy seat and wants her mommy so I will go for now...We love you all very very much.  Hugs and Kisses Kya and Oh are you Kya Blu's Mommy

Life with a Princess

Kya would like to say Happy Fathers Day to Her Prince Charming her Daddy!!!!

Shawn came down for a visit this weekend....but it went by too fast.  Kya really enjoyed getting to play with and sleep by her Daddy.  I got to leave the hotel for the first time....yipppeee!!! The manager of the Hotel Vetveth, her husband and there daughter Sophia took me to the craft market by the Airport.  I bought Kya some really cute dresses and hats.  Then we went to Chili's to eat...another Yippppeeee!!! American food!  Then on Sunday I got to go to the grocery store called Pice with her.  Shawn watched his Ky Ky while I was gone...he is really a great dad.  He has no problem changing dirty diapers or getting up with her at night.  He was really sad when he had to leave us again.  We hope he comes back soon.

Kya is growing and changing every day.  She laughed out loud for the first time on June 7th...when we were playing the getcha getcha game...me tickeling her.  She has a cold right now, the Dr. gave us some medicine for today.  They also changed her formula because she was having too many dirty diapers.  I think she weighs about 9 1/2 lbs now.  She loves to be around music and loves to watch cartoons already.  The cartoons here are all in spanish.  I am taking spanish lessons once a week now.  I am also picking it up from listening to the cartoons.  We got to talk to and see Miriah today on the Web Cam ...I was so glad I have been missing her too much.

Happy Fathers Day to my Hubby, Grandpa JD Jr, The Late Grandpa JD Sr, Grandpa Teel, Kirby, Pa Pa (who says he loves Kya most), Tony, and all the other Dad's we know and Love.....We hope to see you all by the end of Summer...Hugs Candy and Kya Blu

Living at the Marriott

Dear friends and Family

We miss you very much and I know you can not wait to hold Kya...Yes Jakob I remember you called out first on holding Kya Blu....

We are having the most wonderful time here in Guatemala.  This is an experience I will cherish the rest of my life.  We actually love living here in the hotel.  We are making so many great friends and they are all truly wonderful people.  It really has broke me out of my bubble...living in Oklahoma.  I love getting to visit with new people and people from differant cultures and beliefs.  By the time we go home I am sure we will have a friend from every state.  Some of my friends who are fostering in Antiqua Guatemala came to have lunch with me this week.  I have also made a very special friend,  Holly and her beautiful daughter Gia...they have been our partners-in-crime the last two weeks.  Holly is from New Jersey and her Hisband Lorenzoe owns a Pizzaria.  I nick named Gia...gia gia Pizzaria....Holly is leaving tomorrow so we will be sad...but the good news is she will be back in two weeks to foster until she goes home with Gia.

I am not sure i have ever been this busy taking care of KYA and running the Marriott..haha..You all know how I am taking over...I think I am the BOSS of the Hotel.  We stay down in the lobby everynight till almost midnight visiting with the other moms.  It really is like going back to college with our babies.  I brought 3 books and tons of magizines but have not had time to read them. I am barly having time to check my email. My social scedual has never been this busy.  We also hang out by the pool alot and Kya took her first swim this week and loved it...I was the one crying because I was so happy.  I have waited many years to hang out in the pool with my baby girl.

We have wonderful News to share with you.  We had our family court interview and are out of family court and had our DNA test done on Monday.  Should be a week or two to get the results.

Kya Blu Angelica Murnan is the best baby Girl.  She is now sleeping at night about 4-6 hours at a time and drinking a 6-8 oz bottle.  I am excited June is around the corner because I have so many more friends visiting....and the most important person in our lives----KYA's Daddy is coming to see his girls.  Well I better go get some sleep now....more Fun to be had tomorrow....Love you all
